Cold and Calm
Another crisp sunny day. We had an atmospheric walk at Emsworth watching the fog rising from the sea, boats half submerged in the murk and fog horns sounding. The lobster pot Christmas tree had gone up outside the sailing club and inside we could hear a children’s festive party in full swing.
Later, after Andy had done the preparations for the Indian meal he was making for dinner, we had a peaceful walk in the meadow. Something satisfying to walk in the quiet, listening to the birds calling in the half light and feeling the temperature slowing dropping.
Gratefuls:
- Mittens insulated with thick fleece on our walk this morning.
- Over breakfast, watching a wren hunting for insects in the jasmine close to the house.
- To harvest spinach and chard from the allotment this late in the season and use them in our evening meal.
