Disappointment

This is a slightly late posting because I was so absorbed in a Quordle game last night I forgot to post.


Sadly, our plasterer didn’t turn up today.  He had mentioned yesterday that his grandmother had fallen and broken her hip and his grandfather had been moved into care, so we have assumed that he travelled over to Wanaka or down to Dunedin to see them and forgot to let us know.  A text would have been nice - communication. Is everything.  Fingers crossed he’ll be back in the next couple of days.


We had a quiet day at home but went down to the Victoria Lounge for a drink after supper.  Normally I stick to bubbles, but tonight I tried two cocktails (most unlike me). The first was called The Consort and the second was called the Queen Mary.  They were both delicious.

On the way down the hill we saw a bag hanging on a gate with a message written on it “Lemons - please help yourself”.   We put some in our pockets and continued on our way.  The bag was still there when we walked back up the hill, so we took some more and will leave a thank you note when we walk down to the Farmers’ Market tomorrow.
