But, then again . . . . .

Ladies Who Sew.

The seven maids of Roslin are here seen admiring their handiwork on the Roslin panel of "The Great Scottish Tapestry." It has taken a combined effort of about 1,500 woman hours of labour to complete and, this afternoon, after a little ceremonial drink, the last few stitches were put in.

I have a few more pictures that will find their way onto my folio in due course, it will take a little while as I still have the pictures from yesterday to post there. Next week, I will have a further opportunity to document the piece and the design will end up on Blipfoto then.

The next stage is for the canvas to be stretched and then united with around 160 more panels to produce the completed work, the entirety will be larger than the more famous Bayeux Tapestry. I just have the problem that, as a lapsed weaver, I know that this is needlepoint whereas a tapestry has the pattern woven into the fabric. In spite of possessing this irrefutable knowledge, no one will ever agree with me.
