Robin in a hot tub ?

My animals have been behaving oddly this morning.

I went out to defrost the ice-filled bird bath, using seriously hot water. It took two attempts. Steam rose, the ice began to melt and I cleaned it up a bit. Before pouring in some more hot water.

I was a bit shocked to see the robin splashing very enthusiastically very soon after. He was having a lovely time, splashing about. I was worried that he might get hurt but no harm appeared to be done. I’ve never seen him anywhere  near the bird bath before. He’s clearly into spa treatment….

This is a boring shot, I know, but all the splashy ones were far too blurred.

He wasn’t the only creature behaving oddly.

I was on the phone to Hurtigruten and they put me on hold. Their music wasn’t the usual irritating stuff. I was listening carefully when I was joined by Suki, who was also intrigued. She kept nuzzling the phone !

It’s amazing what a bit of minus four does to us all….….
