244 meters high
Feeling somewhat brighter this morning I decided to nip into town to the chemist for some more supplies.
Neighbour Mark said he would appreciate a lift and we decided to grab a coffee, only the cafe in town was closed as the lady that runs it was feeling a little under the weather.
So we carried on through town to Deepdale for a quick cuppa and as Mark had never been round ‘the mast’ we had a trundle around the quick route before our tea. My photo is taken from the car park at the Walkin Cafe.
He then got his shopping while I went into the chemist and we were home again within 90 minutes. But I think the fresh air did us both good.
Mark was asking how long the mast had been there, so I looked it up. Since 1965. I said I thought it had been there ever since I could remember, and as I only about 18 months old when it was commissioned, I was about right!
It is still used to broadcast local radio and regional TV on the digital network.
