Comfort Cases

Fabulous experience working at an amazing NGO - Comfort Cases- created to address the fact that kids in the foster system often move in and out of foster homes using only a plastic garbage bag to hold their meager belongings.  This local non profit (which has grown to a national one) will fill brand new backpacks with basic necessities: new pajamas, tooth brush/paste, toiletry kit, books, pencils or crayons, journals (for the older kids), a new blankie, and last but not least, a new "plushie" packed last into the backpack so that's the first thing kids see when they open the pack.  

The contents are adapted to the age of the recipients (from infants to young adults). The system works through donations (in kind and in money).
