Came home after a lovely break in Chamonix to find this rather beautiful nest in the middle of The drive. No idea where it came from or what kind of bird called it home. So fragile and yet holds together really well. Has a real mixture of materials - straw, grass, wool, cow hair and lots of pheasant feathers. I hope its residents were long away before it ended up on our drive....

Lovely to be back in our Scotland home. Missing Chamonix though.... Back in September....
