There's a storm brewing

One minute after snapping this picture we drove through it, crazy flash flooding on the Interstate Highway Route 66.

The radio station we were listening to was interrupted:

"{SIREN} {SIREN} WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR AN ACTIVATION OF THE EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM FOR THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA {SIREN} {SIREN}"

Not really an experience you wish for before a long haul flight...

But despite the wind, rain and tornadoes in Virginia and Washington DC, the flight was smooth and uneventful.
