Fire From The Sky

On This Day In History
1967: Robert S. McNamara resigns as U.S. Secretary Of Defense

Quote Of The Day
"We burned to death 100,000 Japanese civilians in Tokyo - men, women and children. LeMay recognised what he was doing would be thought immoral if his side had lost. But what makes it immoral if you lose and not immoral if you win?"
(Robert S. McNamara)

For all that dragons are symbols of good luck in Japan, one cannot but feel a sense of foreboding that next year will be the Year Of The Dragon. I hope this dragon isn't named Curtis.

Ann interesting question posed by Mr. McNamara; from whence comes morality? Is it from God? Genetic inheritance? Familial nurturing? Learned from society's norms and values?
