Relaxed boys

After a light breakfast of cereal, fruit and croissants, we got organised and headed off to Dalkeith for a walk. It was lovely and crisp underfoot and Phin really enjoyed having four people to caper around.

Back to the house for homemade vegetable and lentil soup which bizarrely turned out very brown despite my using red lentils. It tasted ok and went well with the leftover cheese scones.

Stuart and Linda headed into Edinburgh to visit the Nomad’s tent, a wonderful emporium of rugs, eclectic furniture and Knick knacks as they wanted to buy a couple of bee rugs and some cushions. Mr PHL nipped in too to visit his barber and I prepped the potatoes and veg for my planned roast pork dinner. It was nice to just potter for a wee while.

We enjoyed some craft gins when they returned as there’s a small distillery next door to the rug shop which they’d popped into.

Dinner went down well and we lingered over red wine and cheese and biscuits till after midnight. I just remembered to blip the boys before the clock struck 12!

Backblipped Monday for Saturday.
