Snow Galore

This morning, it started to snow - and never stopped.

I've been out twice, shoveling paths in the wet and heavy snow, hoping it might thaw away. But it still continues to fall in huge amounts, and now that it's getting dark (and colder), we have a 15 to 20 cm layer of snow in our garden. That kind of weather is not unheard of at this time of the year, but the last winters have been so mild, we hardly saw any snow at all.

We have a red weather warning for tomorrow, too. The slushy snow is already starting to turn to ice, and the first reports of car crashes and blocked roads are coming in.

I stayed at home today, but will have to drive to the sound studio tomorrow, and back after dark. That could be an interesting day.

Edit: P and I went for a meal in the restaurant across the street. I added two extras, a close up of a lamp in their garden and some guys rolling the biggest snow ball ever (in Wiesbaden at least).

In the restaurant, we encountered people who are stranded in the city, as they can’t drive home anymore (to the village next to my mother’s) - all the roads are blocked by fallen trees, or stuck cars, or both.
