Much more joy today
Thank you for your understanding yesterday.
Today I went on an absolutely would-have-happily-paid-for-it Notorious RBG tour today. There is a Capital Jewish Museum which has an exhibit on Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then we went to a museum with a statue of her. Then we went to a restaurant that had a giant wall piece of her made out of tampons - lack of safe sanitary products is a massive barrier to women working and girls going to school around the world and I’ve heard that homeless women sometimes cry when given them because it is a dire need that no one thinks of.
And then we saw another wall mural.
I spent the evening with my second to last photo shoot. It was really hard to get the picture without shadow on the wall and I couldn’t remember what I had learned about how to do that. I finally solved it by moving to the next stage, which we wanted to do anyway, and using lights to light up the wall. One side is blue. One side is magenta. They blend into each other beautifully. Light painting is using long exposure to selected areas or create designs or draw something. He wanted to light draw a sin wave having absolutely no idea how hard it would be to hand draw a perfect sin wave in air. We finally gave up and he just did an exponential curve. This is for the photograph of the young man teaching math. Thank goodness I gave up on the idea of having a class of students there because there is no way people would have tolerated all of our experimentation.
Forbes has an article titled, “The Russians Keep Handing Over Their Upgunned BMP-1AMs To The Ukrainians.” In the article they say, “At this rate, it’s possible Ukraine soon will have as many working BMP-1AMs as Russia does.”
Crimea was hit by a major storm, dubbed "Bettina." There are videos and pictures online showing the impact. Ukraine says it destroyed Russian coastal defense lines.
