Koekhappen

Sinterklaas came to visit the clubhouse of our korfball club. We had a great afternoon. We played some games with the children to show Sinterklaas how a Dutch children’s birthday is celebrated. One of the games was ‘koekhappen’. You have to eat a piece of gingerbread without using your hands, while the gingerbread is hanging on a rope. Sinterklaas tried it first, and was the referee. Lots of other games followed, singing and we ended with Sinterklaas giving a present to every child.

It was a lot of work, but very worth it. And the turnout was great!
