It might not look like it, but this is an own goal

If you looked at this, you'd think it was a sunset over the Alps, and you'd be right. As I love to tell people, this is taken from Italy into a Swiss valley.

But it's also an own goal, so I've discovered.

Reason being is that I've brought my wife along for a couple of days at the start of FotoStelvio. It's where I sit on a mountain taking photos of lots and lots of bikers and cyclists. Lots of them. 147,000 photographs last year in 6-7 weeks in fact.

It can (and will) be a lonely thing as I'm away from home for that period. So I brought the wife for the first couple of days.

The sun set just after we arrived and this was the resulting photo. And she said those words "I have absolutely no sympathy for you. None." Total own goal for bringing her along.

So there you have it - not gonna get one bit of sympathy whilst I'm lonely for the next 10 weeks whilst I work in the Alps and have a hotel window that has an utterly spectacular view ;)
