Good Tradition

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Thanksgiving is now a regular thing for us. I can't pretend to understand how important it is to Jefe, he's been doing it every year stretching back to his childhood. But I do enjoy his enthusiasm.

Manda explained to us how they miss the little things like canned cranberries, served in the shape of the can. But she does her best, spending the best of three days cooking up a storm so that she could provide us all with a feast.

Mind you, in today's blip you see Shenée's contribution to the event - a pumpkin pie that she had been panicking over all day. She needn't have - it was lovely.

"Plus I put little turkey feet on top!" she pointed out. "Bloop bloop bloop."

My contribution was a bottle of whisky. Which - it turned out - Jefe and Manda had bought ME for my birthday this year.

"Oh well, here it is back again," I said. I do not know if this makes me ungrateful. I just don't think much about presents. The friendship of my lovely CST family is enough.

And I was so happy to see Shenée and Craig again. It's been a while. She has - she told us - been in hiding from the world after a rough few months for the pair. But today she seemed her ebullient self again and I got big hugs and she told me how important I am to her.

2023 has taken its toll on all of us, it seems. But I am thankful that we are all still here, all still together. And Thanksgiving 2024 will be even better, I am sure.

S.
