Part time migrants

Goldfinches are halfhearted migrants. A lot spend all winter in Britain but others do migrate. Some to France others as far as Spain but that is about their limit. 
We're off on a 2 week respite to Turkey. Back in time to gather ourselves for the onslaught of Christmas.
