Top Tourist Attractions.....tick

An early start today, as we'd planned to fill the day ticking off the 'must see' attractions in the city - and they didn't disappoint.

First up was climbing up the Eiffel Tower. It would have been nice to go all along to the top, but the queue for the lift was just mental. We was happily satisfied with our 600 steps up to the 2nd level. The views were terrific.

After that we rambled upto the Arc de Triompe but was forbidden to get up close and personal with it due to the police cordon. We then meandered in and out of shops on the Champs Élysées and eventually got to the Louve after an hour or so rest bite in the Tuileries Garden, in the sunshine. The Louve seemed so impressive from the outside and we promised ourself a return visit to spend a full day there to appreciate it properly.

We then found ourselves up in Monmartre where we enjoyed the winding cobbled streets and little delicatessens, as well as the church. A much needed break was required and we tucked into a gorgeous cheese board with another bottle of red wine. The food here is impressing md the most!!

A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day all round. Exhausting, but in a good way!
