Hello sunshine!

Sunshine today! Wow! Did a bit of leafmould digging and barrowing this morning until my back began to protest - but a little bit every day and it will soon be gone.

After lunch we had an informal Keep Oban Beautiful meeting down in the café at the Rockfield Centre. On the way down I met a local puss posing beside this stone gatepost. He's always happy to be stroked - and photographed, so he's my Blip today! There were only five of us at the meeting, but we talked through a lot of ideas and I hope made some progress.

Tomorrow at 10am we in Keep Oban Beautiful are beginning to clear rubbish and other dumped stuff from a fragment of native woodland behind the High School here in Oban. We have permission from the council to open up the path and make the area more interesting for wildlife - and humans! We intend to remove the non-native shrubs which have invaded the space over the years. We did approach the eco-group at the High School, but they didn't seem to be interested. We were told by one of those at the meeting that we were aiming only at middle-class people, but we're just aiming at everyone.  - happy to see anyone join in regardless of their social standing!

Just hope it doesn't rain!
