Ditch

Indoor bowling today on a better day weather wise. 
Several ends went through this with the jack  (white) in the ditch sometimes with and sometimes without an accompanying wood.
Because the wood had touched the jack before they both ended up in the ditch it counts as the closest wood. Our skip managed to reduce the opposition's woods that counted by putting his wood close to the ditch but not in it. So we lost that end by one shot, quite a good result. If our skip's wood had gone in the ditch though it wouldn't have counted because that's not allowed. Clear?!
