after i'd been awake most of the night - figuring i'd meander outside to see if there was going to be any kind of a sunrise - to greet the day and...

boy-oh-boy - was there ever! it was one of those kind of things where you had to look once and look quickly or you'd miss the ever changing colors - know what i mean? how you can swear you saw 1 color - then the very next second, it's gone - leaving you thinking, well maybe you really didn't see it at all - then the sky would sort of smooth out - not giving up much of anything - only to surprise you in the very next moment or 2 - i just love that! an utter explosion of color combinations streaking across the expanse - to shout "good morning" - whether you've been up all night - are just getting up to greet the day - are in your car driving across the city 'cuz you're leaving work - whatever the case may be - it's there to welcome you - this fiery orb in the sky...

oh - and as an added little bonus - to heighten the moment - make it extra special - provide you with a tiny jolt of "wow - could that have been any more perfect?" - a pair of birds went flying by - leaving my mouth hanging open - heart skipping a beat - thinking now, perhaps i could find some rest - because this has by far already been...
