Wardrobe progress

The builders have finished, after three weeks! They didn't do plastering or filling etc. as that would have made a big difference to the cost. They did a good job of what they did and they initially said they would put a hatch, on either side, to access the other two sections of the attic where we have boxes and Christmas decorations etc. stored.
They didn't do that, they actually put doors, one either side, in so it is a great deal easier to access the attic areas. Behind the doors is that thick insulation in the form of a hatch, so we can remove it after opening the door. They did that to increase the insulation, and it certainly does.
Can't remember the name of the insulation sheet but it was also used under the floor of our conservatory too and it is never cold.
So, the past couple of days we've been sealing, filling, sanding etc. One thing they suggested, which turned out to be brilliant, was to use reinforced corner tape to do the edges. It is tough paper tape with a crease down the middle and two strips of thin, flexible, stainless steel so when you cut the length you want you then fold it (very easy to do) and fix it to the corners to give a sharp, and very neat, edge. It says to use a compound as adhesive but I could only find it in 5kg tubs, so we used a couple of tubes of builders caulk, it's sticky enough to use as an adhesive.
Tomorrow, more sanding of the fillings and then we'll start painting, after that the carpet will go in and then furnishings and clothes rails etc.
