The morning was spent at Quoydale discussing maintenance projects going on in the Hoy Kirk; there was a call with the Hoy Heritage Officer.  CMC’s brother shared his itinerary for him and his manager to visit Canada next year.  Sadly, their more imminent plans (this coming weekend) are well and truly scuppered.  The boat to the Orkney Mainland is cancelled tomorrow – as are all ferries across the Pentland Firth.  Their long weekend in Carrbridge (already paid for) will not be possible.  Back at the Bolt Hole CMC tinkled away on her piano and I finished my book – State of Emergency.
