Tea in the Summer House

We joined my parents for afternoon tea in their garden today (Father's Day). The weather was beautiful and sunny but a little windy and cool for sipping tea out-of-doors. So we retreated to the shelter of the summer house in the rose garden. Inside we could admire the garden and sunshine in civilized comfort.

My father built the summer house as a birthday gift for my mother several years ago. It offers views of the garden on three sides and shelter from the prevailing winds on the fourth. Tea cups are kept at the ready so one only has to bring tea bags and an electric kettle full of water from the main house at tea time.

Shot and edited on an iPhone 4S using PureShot and Snapseed. Editing included cropping, tweaking exposure, contrast and saturation and applying a vignette.
