Shottery
Our friends from Derby, Liz and Genny, came to visit today. I made lunch of stuffed peppers and roast vegetables with asparagus, whilst Ann made a great pudding of filo pastry with bananas and figs.
This was all washed down with a very acceptable Merlot and followed up with coffee in the garden. Later as we started nodding off in the afternoon sun and the effects of the lunch/wine we decided to go for a walk with Dylan around Shottery Village. We went across Shottery Fields and along the footpath to Ann Hathaway's Cottage that doesn't allow dogs. On the way back I took this photo of the outside of old post office in the heart of the village, long closed, though the stamp machine is still there, bereft of stamps, though when in use I guess the cost of each stamp would be a few pence.
