Dark and Dreary Day
It has rained pretty hard all day. We stayed inside as much as possible, catching up with laundry, watching birds and resting again. As soon as the lunch dishes were taken care of, my sister and I started on dinner. We made a hearty soup with Italian sausage, zucchini, spinach, tomatoes, tortellini, etc. It was certainly a hit with the men. While taking Sugar for a walk, I saw these two does. I went back with my camera. A dense fog was starting to come across the ridges. The deer simply stood looking at me. Usually they are very skittish. We called our mother after dinner. My son and DIL visited her today and took her out to dinner. It made her day. Mancil went down after school yesterday and they wrote poetry until late evening. My family’s kindness sure lets us enjoy our time here more. The rain and thick soup have made us lazy tonight. Hope your evening was peaceful. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “What's nice about the rain is you don't feel you have to live up to anything. Everything around you is so grey and wet and damp and dreary that you don't feel you have to smile and percolate as you do on a sunny spring day.” - Mary Tyler Moore
