Quod oculus meus videt

Brought back Memories

Any one of an older persuasion in the U.K. will probably have come across this crockery. My parents had the classic jade coloured pieces, although I’ve also seen them in a yellow and dusky pink colour as well. The ribbed band around the cups, saucers and plates was its defining style. They were made by Woods and Sons, in Burnley, near Stoke on Trent from the 1940s.

We came across them while walking back from the G.P.s this morning
