When you are weary, feeling small
The Big Idea in Irvine, was a great idea.
It was a great idea, until Glasgow had a similar idea, and the visitors drifted away from the West of Scotland and headed for a similar experience in Glasgow.
A beautiful custom built science centre to teach families about Science, Scottish Inventors and all things science related.
When Glasgow's Science Centre opened, they couldn't cope with the reduced visitor numbers and it closed its doors three years after it opened.
That was 20 years ago.
And it's sat here every since.
