Foghorn Compressor

A single cylinder, double acting, open crank air compressor driven by a 15hp electric motor which was built by Anderson Foundry Co, Glasgow about 1920 for the Glasgow & South Western Railway and installed at Troon Harbour to operate the foghorn. Donated to the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group by British Transport Docks Board in October 1978.
