Alnmouth

Stormy last night with rain and winds of 40mph.  The hound woke in the night and started barking.  I think he was having a nightmare possibly triggered by the noisy wind.  Eventually he settled back to sleep.

Had a brief morning walk.  The sea was boiling and churning after last night's storm.   Also noticed a lot of off-white foam - pollution on the rocks - extra.

Today is Mr's 66th birthday.  I gave him a couple of books and a lovely mug I spotted in a local shop.  It's difficult to get gifts for a person who has what he needs.  

Headed to Alnmouth after breakfast.  Last night today's forecast was for sunshine but it was pretty cloudy for much of our visit until we were heading for the car to return to our holiday cottage.  Bought cheese and pickle sandwiches from Scott's deli for lunch.

Spotted the border collie sitting outside the shop, ignoring passersby.  

Takeaway pizza from a local Italian restaurant for dinner.  Haven't had a genuine pizza for over a year. 

Tired out now.  Quiet evening.

Looks like a walk on Bamburgh beach tomorrow afternoon.
