Walked through the woods to Bassenthwaite this morning.  I had a feeling the lake would be over the footpath so put my wellies on.  Couldn't walk far at all which was a shame and meant I couldn't get to my favourite tree.  Once back at the car drove to the lay-by on the A66 and did another walk at the lake.  Did lots of wading in water which again was over the footpath but at least I was able to get to my favourite tree which is in extras.
