Sunshine on Porty

It was a lovely morning to be baring all to the waves. Latterly the weather has been wet and miserable first thing, but today was windless, sunny and not too cold.
With waves that packed a punch as they came ashore the trick was to get beyond the breakers and find a calmer sea. At least the immersion was speedy when the waves caught us midriff as we waded out.

Homeward bound, we just missed a #26 bus and having waited 12 minutes two #26s came together- not ideal, but I was lucky that there was only a very short wait at the Mound for a #23 home.
It was lovely to get into the sea again after missing my swims  last week because of the weather.

Once home there is always the desanding the swimming gear but once that was done, I spent time trying to work out the best  flights to Bristol for my brother’s funeral hoping we might manage it in a day. Now all we need is for those of us going to agree a route and then book but we have another 3 weeks.

Later I met a Maggie’s friend for lunch . She, bless her, had travelled from North Berwick to the big smoke for a late birthday celebration with me. She has a wicked sense of humour so there was much laughter. Her birthday card read “Age is just a number, in your case quite a high one”. So true and so funny.
