Evie with her new toy.
Henry wasn't at home over the weekend. He'd gone to Cubs camp and was sleeping under canvas somewhere.
Archie and Evie were about, and during the day as we were rushing about doing stuff, they both accompanied us without complaining, without tantrums and always with a smile.
They had both been saving up their pennies and Flick and I decided to top up their funds since they had been both so good - and take them off to the toy-store to buy something.
Archie is well practised in the art of taking Granny and Grandad to the toy shop and instantly demonstrated his expertise by desperately wanting something that cost twice as much money as he had saved. Evie quickly followed suit and Grandad willingly made up the difference.
Clever Archie; clever Evie .
Stupid Grandad.
Lessons had been learned by everybody.
Except Grandad.
PS The scabs on Evie are the result of a bad case of "chicken pops"
