Hawthorn

Had a walk up the Tweed above Manor Bridge this morning. The recent warm temperatures and some rain mean the vegetation is at its thickest and most vigorous, and very wet where I had to make my way through the long grass (and nettles, but one has to suffer for one's art...).

This is Hawthorn - Crataegus monogyna - not at all rare around here, but whose blossom right now is beautiful.
