Pumpkin day
Today, early in the morning, the only pumpkin that has been ripening in our yard, was harvested and put in the pot, to create ‘Charente’s’ Thai pumpkin soup, always a success. This picture shows the double exposure of the pumpkin and of the big Dutch oven pot, which was miraculously big enough to take in the whole pumpkin. In reality the pumpkin gave 8 pounds of “flesh” that could be processed and in spite of the fact that this is my biggest pot, I could only use half of the pumpkin and still the pot was 75% full in the end with a very delicious soup. I might have to freeze the other half for another soup at another day.
At church we had a pre-Thanksgiving potluck after the service with so many delicious things to eat that my pumpkin soup was not necessary…It was a very nice social gathering.
As I just learned that this was a milestone day, I had to get some nicer picture in the extras as I took a lot of pictures today.
So many years of blipping…
Photography has lost its importance for me compared to the first years of this blip adventure; I now continue for the friends and the journaling.
Oh when I think back of the excitement of reaching the very first milestone. How Aynil and I were debating what kind of picture we were going take to celebrate. I still remember the picture.
I feel very grateful for the people who keep this wonderful site up and running. No ads, no nastiness.
And I feel very grateful for you, my friends, who so faithfully follow my journal, comment and sprinkle some Lametta over me in spite of me being a less and less active commenter. Thank you all!
