Flying Fortress

The kids and I saw the airplanes of the Wings of Freedom tour. This is one of propellers on the Boeing B-17G "Flying Fortress". We saw a dual-control P-51C Mustang take off, buzz the crowd and land. Turns out the gentleman getting the flying lesson/tour was someone we knew. The smile on his face was priceless. I am amazed by how small the interiors were. Not sure how 10 men fit in the B-17. The walkway was so small that while 60-pound Girly could walk straight through, I couldn't. It was one foot in front of the other as we crossed a thin metal beam above the bombs. The only disappointment was that there weren't any volunteers or tour guides talking about what we were seeing. Glad I went. And a good photo opp. Here is the link for the tour.
