A massive day!
Still blowing an absolute hoolie with intermittent torrential downpours, we headed out to see a drowned forest on the edge of the sea. This had only been revealed in the 1970s when a severe storm whipped off the layers of peat and a massive forest - 350 trees have so far been counted - was revealed. This trunk is known as Goliath and he's 4000 years old!

Then it was on to look at a stone row of colossal standing stones. These are very well positioned on a hill but oh boy, we were almost blown away and could hardly hear what the speaker was telling us! Highly impressive whatever was going on.

Then back to the house and a freshen up before going off to Ballinskelligs village hall where Finola and I were the evening's entertainment!  I held forth on the holy wells in the area (35 and one holy lake) and Finola talked about discovering and recording rock art now and then - the then was when she did her (still) definitive thesis on rock art 50 years ago. This was then followed by music. Wrecked!
