Such generosity!

Over a year ago, a couple of us applied to the Co-op Local Community Fund  on behalf of the Dervaig Community Orchard for it to be considered for local support. Along with a couple of other projects on the island we were fortunate enough to be chosen and over the past year, people shopping in the Co-op have had the opportunity to support the Orchard (or one of the other projects). This meant that we received from the Co-op 2p for every £1 that the customer spent on selected Co-op products. We couldn’t believe it when we were informed that we were going to receive £2648! So today, myself and C went to the Co-op in Tobermory to receive the publicity cheque from the store manager and the Local Member Pioneer who has been our Co-op contact through the year. What a fantastic way that this supermarket supports local people!
