Happy Fathers Day

Wishing my Mr F a very Happy Fathers Day today. He's been a fantastic dad from the day we knew I was pregnant with our eldest Hayley, seventeen years ago. He's taken great care of me throughout our difficult pregnancies and taken my abuse through the births with a smile. He's been up all night during the baby years, then gone to work the next day. He's always been there for bath times, reading times, homework times, school assembly times, tears, laughs, hospital, tantrums, and the years when we had two toddlers in our bed with severe eczema stroking arms and legs all night long to stop scratching. He's been the taxi service, the go-between to block strict Mum, been so laid back when I struggled......the list goes on.

You might think so what, that's what a dad SHOULD do. But the reason I feel the need to state this is because we both come from families where our fathers were a joke to say the very least. Both our fathers showed nothing but violence and indifference to their children/wives. So it shows its not in-built necessarily to be a great father, or a real man. He hasn't had the greatest role model but he outshines any dad I've ever known, and for that I thank him, and love him all the more xxx xxx
