Christmas Lights Switch-on

I know it seems early for the town to switch on its Christmas lights, but the intention is to boost sales in the local shops.

It was well attended as always, with large crowds enjoying the entertainment, which included some bagpipe players this year.

There was delicious barbecue aromas drifting around from the street food stalls and we were lucky that this dry day is sandwiched between a wet day yesterday and a wet day forecast tomorrow.

The fireworks were the grand finale once all the shopfront lights were turned on.

Apparently, according to an article in the Eastern Daily Press today, Holt is on the list of one of the prettiest towns for Christmas shopping.
