"What makes the state like God"
On the church next door to Granada's cathedral is engraved the name of José Antonio Primo de Rivera, leader of the fascist-leaning Spanish Phalanx party executed by the republican government in 1936. Commemorated by the Catholic Church in Spain, the blood-like paint daubed on the wall around him attests to his divisive legacy.
