The nights are getting colder now so he/she could be inspecting a new home to spend the hours of darkness out of the bad weather.    I liked how the beautiful sunshine gave him/her a lovely shadow.
After our walk this morning I made a 2 metre square cage to take this years leaves for leaf mould.    The cage I filled last year has rotted down into a lovely dark and crumbly texture so once I've added that to my home made compost it should be sufficient for the garden and it's peat free too.
