River Charente

I met a friend in Saintes for coffee this morning, and noticed the river being very high. Roads either side of the bridge have been close due to being flooded so there are lots of diversions, and the council are picking up leaves in the car park so lots of spaces are unavailable.
My friend got caught up in all the chaos, but I arrived only five minutes earlier and was ok. We had a nice time catching up and agreed to do it again soon. 
Don’t let the weather fool you, it started raining again half an hour later!
