Out in the garden Crocus laevigatus continues in good form.   It's diminutive nature means the winds don't effect it as much as the taller species, like most crocuses the flowers close to avoid the worst weather and now that it's colder the slugs are less active.  The three clumps in this raised bed provide much welcome colour :-)

All change this morning when a series of phone calls changed the course of the day and potentially the next couple of months.   The hospital rang changing the time of Jamie's appointment in Aberystwyth from 115pm to 4pm which in turn meant that I had to rearrange my afternoon dentist appointment in Dolgellau as I would have needed a Tardis to get me there in time!   Then a call from Birmingham, our pointed and carefully worded dissatisfaction that the adaptation work was to be delayed until next year may have hit home - or the intervention of the local councillor and the threat of MP involvement likewise.   A new contractor has been found who can deliver the work sooner, although Christmas looms large now we've lost another couple of weeks.  I may need to make trips to Brum in addition to the three already planned between now and Christmas.

What was left of the morning saw me fettling a small vase and two bowls, all hand built, that I started at pottery yesterday.  They're all drying now.  Then after a late lunch, off to Aberystwyth for what was initially a short spirometry test to check Jamie's lung function, relating to his asthma cough which caused such big problems earlier this year.  His lung function is good ... but the test set him off coughing so we were at the hospital a bit longer for follow up tests.  His inhaler settled the cough thankfully and we were only an hour later home than expected.  An evening helping him pack for a weekend away.  Now I'm just hoping that the sense of an impending cold - a singing friend laid low this week since I last saw her may be the vector - doesn't spoil my weekend of light duties!
