A long time ago now!

This morning we went to see our grandsons class assembly at 9am. This is the first one they have done for parents/grandparents and it was on the theme of music making. Every child had a line to say and they all ‘played’ the instrument they had made a couple of weeks ago, from junk! About half the class also played the recorder and they all sang very well. So a very nice occasion.

I have spent a long time today sorting through old paperwork, cards etc. lots has gone in the paper recycling bin. The blip is of the menu I did for our 1999 New Years Eve dinner! We had two other families to stay overnight with their children. It was a nice occasion at home as we had been up to London in the afternoon. We had a lovely roast beef dinner I can see from the menu and fireworks with sparklers around midnight. I had been on secondment to Tesco for over a year in 1998/99 working with schools on a project that was displayed in the Dome. Tesco had a big stand there.

Since this we have not had many New Years celebrations/dinner parties  at home once the children left home and won’t be doing so this year!
