Lochrin Basin
This is the end of the Union Canal in Edinburgh. We parked at Ratho and walked in to the city, taking the bus back. It's a pleasant walk, and we chose it in preference to a day in the hills because heavy rain was forecast. In the event we saw lots of black clouds but no rain.
I'm sorry for the people of Ratho who use the bus, though. The route has changed since we last used it. It goes via the Gyle now and takes forever. And when the tram comes into service they are going to lose the direct bus altogether.
I liked this picture because with a little enhancement it came out looking much like an architects drawing. That's a bit perverse, because generally I dislike architects views of planned developments as being unrealistic!
