Lone ash tree

Did it rain today?? Storm Debi left some puddles in her wake. I was out with Bonnie when a terrific squall hit and we had to hide behind a tree for shelter.
She seems to have gone on her way now, but I wonder how much more water the ground can hold. There were some encouraging signs of mass tree planting up the Borrowdale valley yesterday but it will be some years before they do much to help with surplus water. Too little too late. 
The lone ash tree seems ok still.
