Autumnal glow

Today we have another named storm across the UK. Down here in the south of England it has not been too bad although it has been quite windy. This morning I set off on my walk with Xena confident that it would not rain again, as that is what was forecast, but of course it did and we had to take shelter under a tree as Xena hates getting rained on. We continued our walk and then the sun came out again and this was the lovely glow of autumn colours on the pond.

I made some veggie and lentil soup for my lunch which was delicious. After lunch I met a friend in the village for a coffee and catch up, we were so busy chatting that suddenly we noticed the staff were sweeping around us and tidying up, so we knew it was time to go home!

Meriel got a new boss today - in an unexpected move by our Prime Minister, David Cameron has been appointed as Foreign Secretary. Meriel said he did an address to the staff today and spoke very well. I don't think any of us will forget the description of 'the Guardian-reading tofu-eating wokerati' as said by our former home secretary :)

I am off to camera club soon, we have a three-of-kind competition tonight. These are the hardest nights to go out when it is dark and getting cold, but its just over a month away until the winter solstice and then we can see the days lengthening again.
