Kathina Ceremony

H and I were invited along along to Edinburgh Academy where her friend's Thai Buddhist Temple were celebrating Kathina. The friend was performing traditional dance as part of a kids group. What a surprise!

There was food, music, traditional dress, lots of excitement and chatting, dance and even an exhibition of Thai boxing! And that was all before the ceremony started - offering new robes and other staple goods to the monks for the year ahead.

The rest of the day included a birthday party (H), and shopping for essentials (me), a tasty and easy dinner and watching a film together.
