Family day
The children had sporting commitments at different times today which meant we weren’t all able to meet together. Instead we went to #2 daughter at Whitley Bay for coffee and cake and a walk by the wild sea. They were all on good form. James had a good morning at football and the boys had fun at the sea while we chatted to daughter. On our return the boys used some electronic building toy to make it play happy birthday which was fun. .
We went to #3 daughter in Gosforth for supper as Ella had been to Scouts in the afternoon and Nathaniel had rugby in the morning. He’d had lots of praise from the coaches - now they are playing proper games he is getting more out of it. Most of the others are at private schools and play at school as well so know each other. Previously they’d just pass to each other and he was a bit on his own but now they are learning more about team work which suits him.
We had champagne first then a delicious dinner - Chinese plant-based and very tasty. Nathaniel showed me his latest power point presentation, this time about Egypt. Ella chatted about the obstacle course they’d been doing at Scouts.
I’ve had such a lovely extended birthday. I’m hoping I’ll be able to stay awake to watch Strictly on catch up!
