The Gentleman's Club

Another slow blip day. I worked from home, which is always a good thing to do: the coffee is good, the music is good and I don't get pestered by my colleagues. I wish I could do it more often. The downside is that it tends to limit blipping opportunities.

I have often wondered what Gentlemen do at this Club. I imagine that they sit in high-backed leather armchairs, smoking cigars, drinking port and reading the newspaper. Except that they won't be allowed to smoke nowadays. They probably have a wood-panelled smoking shelter round the back.

On the other hand, there is a possibility that there is a connection with The After Eight Club and 17 Danube Street...

This particular establishment is in Comely Bank which, for those of you who don't know Edinburgh, could reasonably be described as a moderately up-market residential area. It has been there for as long as I remember, thought I haven't walked past it for a few years and, as far as I recall, it didn't used to have a name, a phone number or a lurid blue paint job. I don't think I'll be popping in anytime soon.

The weekend is nigh :-)
